GOP gets new midterm spending weapon from SCOTUS

The Senate GOP campaign arm received a significant Supreme Court boost concerning campaign finance regulations. This ruling allows campaign committees to spend unlimited sums in coordination with candidates. Republicans, who rely heavily on mega-donors and their committees, are expected to benefit more from this decision. GOP officials celebrated the ruling, suggesting Democrats are upset about a perceived leveling of the playing field. The decision enables committee funds to be more effective due to cheaper ad prices and discounted postage rates available to candidates. Committees can now also collaborate directly with campaigns on spending previously subject to caps. Following the ruling, the Senate GOP committee plans to shift its spending towards coordinated ad buys. Both the RNC and the Senate GOP campaign arm possess considerably more cash on hand than their Democratic counterparts. However, Democrats maintain a strong advantage in grassroots and direct-to-campaign small-dollar fundraising. Despite the committee spending boost, Democratic candidates consistently out-raise Republicans overall due to their small-dollar fundraising power.
