Wrapture has reached version 1.0.0b1, moving from alpha to beta status, signaling API stability. The project now seeks user feedback on real-world applications to inform future development. Specific attention is requested for the OpenTelemetry export, ensuring attribute mapping adheres to conventions. Companion instrumentation packages are also at the beta stage. A core instrumentation package covers in-process targets, while separate packages exist for external services like databases and AWS. These separate packages contain their own release cadences. The project plans further instrumentation for Redis, MongoDB, and potentially LangChain. A series of blog posts detail wrapture's use in unit testing and application tracing. Interactive workshops are available via GitHub for hands-on learning, runnable directly in a browser on mybinder.org or locally. These workshops allow users to learn wrapture concepts by doing. The author acknowledges that Simon Willison's prior summary post has already increased visibility for wrapture. The current post aims to consolidate all relevant links, package information, and workshop resources in one location. A new feature, jupyterlab-workshop, allows interactive workshops to be run within JupyterLab.
