The Department of Health and Human Services is actively examining the impact of electromagnetic fields. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced the department has requested input from researchers and the public regarding EMF exposure, particularly radiofrequency radiation. This initiative aims to consolidate existing evidence and develop recommendations for schools and families. Kennedy highlighted growing concerns about EMFs, especially concerning children and long-term cumulative exposure. The department is soliciting various forms of evidence, including scientific studies, government reports, and personal experiences detailing health effects linked to EMF exposure. Public comments will be accepted for 30 days starting September 21st. Kennedy himself has a history of involvement in litigation concerning EMFs, including a case that found the FCC's wireless radiation limits were inadequately justified. A previous court ruling mandated the FCC to properly review health effects from wireless radiation. Children's Health Defense has filed a new case alleging the FCC's non-compliance with this order. The FCC maintains that no definitive link between wireless device use and illness has been established. HHS plans to release a report this fall that will incorporate the public's submitted evidence and address knowledge gaps in this area.
