I Was Selected as an AWS Student Builder Group Leader. Here’s What I Hope to Build

The author is excited to be selected as an AWS Student Builder Group Leader, viewing it as an opportunity to contribute to cloud technology learning. They believe student communities are vital for motivation, asking questions, and sharing knowledge, as learning cloud computing can be solitary. The author's own best learning experiences came from building and troubleshooting, not just following tutorials. As an SBGL, they aim to foster an environment for hands-on AWS building through workshops and project sessions. They want to make cloud computing accessible to beginners, emphasizing a collaborative "build it together" approach. The author envisions communities where students from different universities collaborate on projects, learning teamwork and real-world engineering practices. This role is also a personal learning opportunity, pushing the author outside their comfort zone and deepening their understanding. They are particularly enthusiastic about empowering students in Nepal, providing them with access to community and opportunities for building. The ultimate goal is for students to move from learning about cloud technology to actively building with it. The journey of being an SBGL is just the start of building something meaningful with the community.
