In July 2024, Google introduced Enterprise Content Delivery Network (eCDN) support for Google Meet, which significantly reduces live streaming bandwidth consumption. Now, admins can turn on client debug logs in the Admin console to gain detailed insights into how configurations affect eCDN usage across their network. This information includes device status, network details, and performance stats like transfer rates and peer connections. Understanding peering rules is crucial for achieving bandwidth savings targets, and the detailed information helps admins deploy eCDN faster and monitor its effectiveness. Additionally, the debug logs aid in troubleshooting issues more quickly. Admins can visit the Help Center to learn more about accessing client debug logs and turning eCDN on for their organization. There is no action required from end users. The feature will be gradually rolled out to all Google Workspace customers starting on October 11, 2024.
