Google Sheets is enhancing its URL and email validation functions, ISURL and ISEMAIL. These functions are being updated to more accurately recognize a wider range of valid domains and email addresses. Consequently, properly formatted URLs and emails will now more reliably return TRUE when processed by these functions. This improvement will affect both new and existing uses of ISURL and ISEMAIL. There are no administrative or end-user controls for this update. The change will be available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts. The rollout is scheduled to begin on August 25, 2025, for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. This extended rollout may take more than 15 days for full visibility.
