Intel Is Making Its Own Handheld Gaming PC Chips At CES 2026

Intel's latest Panther Lake processor boasts a significantly improved integrated GPU, the Arc B390. This new iGPU is over 70% faster than its predecessor and represents a major advancement for handheld gaming devices. Intel CEO Lip Bu Tan described the Panther Lake launch as an "overdelivery" of expectations. The company is actively building a "handheld ecosystem" to leverage the iGPU's performance. Partnerships with major tech companies like MSI, Acer, and Microsoft are key to this strategy. These collaborations aim to bring more Intel-powered handhelds to market. The Arc B390 is engineered to provide up to 77% faster gaming performance compared to Lunar Lake's graphics. The Panther Lake chip utilizes Intel's 18A Foundry process, allowing for versatile die configurations. Intel is developing custom "Intel Core G3" processors specifically for handhelds. These custom chips will further optimize GPU performance for handheld gaming.
