Businesses struggle with data analysis due to large data volumes and slow insight generation. AI agents offer a solution by enabling faster data-driven decisions. Google is launching Conversational Analytics in BigQuery, a new offering to address these issues. This tool allows users to analyze data using natural language within BigQuery Studio. It's an intelligent agent leveraging Gemini models for insightful and contextual answers. Technical and business teams can build agents at the data source, using existing data and metadata. The system uses business metadata and logic to build trust and ensure precise, relevant responses. The agent offers summarized answers, raw results, visualizations, and follow-up questions from the user via a multi stage workflow. It employs verified queries, UDFs, and provides transparent logic for confidence and supports security and governance. Conversational Analytics also provides predictive analytics, forecasting outcomes and finding patterns, unlike other tools. It further analyses unstructured data, such as images, providing insights from an aggregated dataset. Users can create agents by connecting tables, adding instructions, and sharing them via existing services. The Conversational Analytics in BigQuery preview is now available for users to try.
