Migrating communication history from Microsoft Teams to Google Workspace is now generally available for large-scale enterprise workloads. This new feature is part of the existing Data Import tool and incurs no additional cost for the tool itself. Admins can seamlessly copy channel messages, group chats, and direct conversations from Teams to Workspace without extra charges for tools or infrastructure. The Data Import tool offers ease of use through a scalable, cloud-native solution directly accessible from the admin console. It also provides quicker speeds and improved accuracy for data migration due to parallelization and enhanced algorithms. The migration process maintains high fidelity, importing both Teams channels and private chat messages, including 1:1 and group messages. A migration planning utility is also available for Teams to assist with change management and forecasting migration timelines. This utility helps estimate migration timelines and organize user data into optimized batches for large-scale enterprise migrations. Admins can access data import within the Workspace Admin console and find more information in the Help Center. End users require no action as there is no impact on their workflow.
