Google is launching Expert Intelligence, a new initiative designed to connect users with trusted information through AI. This feature is initially integrated into Gemini Notebook. Users can now incorporate insights from over 100,000 books by major publishers directly into their Gemini Notebooks. Compatible ebooks purchased from Google Play Books can be added, allowing users to ask questions and receive answers grounded in the book's text. Gemini Notebooks can also help users understand books in novel ways, such as through infographics, audio overviews, or quizzes. Additionally, Google is offering a free book to eligible users in the U.S. while supplies last. Employees and students can combine expert insights from books with their own documents, like syllabi or lecture notes, for enhanced learning. For example, a student could generate practice quizzes for exams, or a manager could consult a management best practices book for guidance. To interact with an ebook in a shared notebook, all recipients must own an eligible Play Book ebook. Administrators need to ensure Gemini Notebook, Google Play, and Google Books are enabled for their users. Eligible users can identify compatible books on Google Play Books and add them to Gemini Notebook.
