Introducing the Workspace Policy API mutate endpoints for DLP
The Workspace Policy API offers a unified way to manage security settings. The latest update adds mutation endpoints for creating, updating, and deleting data loss prevention (DLP) rules. This enables super admins to fully automate the management of their DLP policies. Currently, this API-only launch mirrors capabilities already present in the Admin console. DLP helps Workspace admins control external file sharing to prevent sensitive information leaks. It scans files, triggers incidents, and initiates protective actions like content blocking. Admins configure sensitive content rules across Drive, Gmail, Chat, and Chrome. DLP rule violations prompt actions such as alerts to administrators. Super admin privileges are required to use the Policy API, with GAM also supporting it. This feature is now available to all Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers.
