Iran ceasefire in peril as UAE says it's under attack

Follow
The United Arab Emirates reported being targeted by missiles and drones in a series of attacks originating from Iran. Fires were reported at a fuel facility and on ships near the UAE coast during the attacks. Iran has not yet claimed responsibility for any of the incidents. These attacks could be the first by Iran against a Gulf state since a recent ceasefire. The attacks come amidst escalating tensions and a potential return to conflict between the U.S. and Iran. The U.S. launched an initiative to escort ships, which Iran threatened to respond to with force. CENTCOM reported Iran firing cruise missiles and drones at Navy and commercial vessels. The UAE intercepted cruise missiles, accounting for the loud booms heard. Another attack was reported shortly after the interceptions. A drone strike caused a fire at a fuel facility in Fujairah. There were also reports of fires on two different vessels off the UAE coast.
