Iran Expands Strikes On Gulf Energy Infrastructure As More Oil Hubs Hit

Multiple suspected Iranian drone strikes have targeted energy infrastructure in the Gulf. Fujairah, a major UAE oil-trading hub, experienced a significant fire after an intercepted drone, suspending operations. Another incident occurred at the Port of Salalah in Oman, also involving a drone strike. These attacks follow a reported Iranian drone strike that took Saudi Arabia's largest refinery offline on Monday. Fujairah's strategic location allows crude export bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Satellite imagery displayed the damage at the Saudi refinery. The attacks have caused a spike in Brent crude futures and European natural gas prices. Iran's Revolutionary Guards threatened maritime passage through the crucial Strait of Hormuz. Beyond energy infrastructure, other soft targets in Gulf states have been impacted, including skyscrapers and data centers. The attacks have raised concerns about the vulnerability of critical infrastructure, with desalination plants being potentially at risk.
