Join video conferences on Google Meet hardware via SIP through Pexip

Google Meet hardware now supports joining video conferences via SIP through a Pexip interop gateway. This feature allows universal connectivity, enabling users to join meetings hosted on any SIP-compatible platform directly from their Meet rooms. The SIP functionality works on Google Meet hardware devices running on both Android and ChromeOS operating systems. It supports essential in-meeting interactions like DTMF for navigating IVRs and entering passcodes. Administrators have distinct settings to manage SIP dial-out capabilities separately from other Pexip integrations. Joining SIP calls can be done with a single touch via the room agenda. Administrators can enable or disable this feature at the domain, organizational unit, or group level. The feature will be off by default and requires a separate Pexip subscription. A gradual rollout for this feature began on July 6, 2026. This functionality is available to all Google Workspace customers with Google Meet hardware devices.
