She also commented on Ukraine's losses, implying the European Commission's plans were overambitious given Russia's battlefield gains. Despite this, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that European leaders are prepared to offer security guarantees to Ukraine after a peace accord. While details remain confidential, Macron indicated preparations are complete, and allied defense ministers would discuss the issue. Russia has consistently communicated its stance against foreign intervention, a message that seemingly has not resonated in Western capitals. President Putin, observing military events in Beijing, asserted Russia's battlefield momentum and stated that if the conflict isn't resolved peacefully, Russia will achieve its objectives militarily. He also suggested that Ukrainian President Zelensky would need to come to Moscow for any meaningful meeting, and only after substantial agreements are reached.
