Google Vids is expanding access to its AI features for Google Workspace for Education users. Initially, basic Google Vids access was provided to all Education users. Now, advanced AI capabilities are available to those with an Education Plus or Teaching & Learning add-on license for a limited time. These features include read-along teleprompter mode, AI voiceovers, and text-to-image generation. Users can also utilize AI for image background editing, video story planning, and transcript trimming. Soon, the Veo 3 model, AI avatars, and Slides to Vids with Gemini will also be accessible. Admins will manage these AI features through the Admin Console. The generative AI features in Vids are included by default in Google AI Pro for Education. For most, these AI features will be turned on by default and can be managed by administrators. Rapid Release domains already have access, with Scheduled Release domains seeing availability starting September 23, 2025. These AI features are for users 18 and older and are available through at least May 31, 2026.
