Major US Online Retailers Remove Listings For Millions of Prohibited Chinese Electronics
The FCC has compelled major U.S. online retailers to eliminate millions of listings for Chinese-made electronics due to national security concerns. These products, including those from Huawei, ZTE, Hikvision, and Dahua, were either prohibited or lacked FCC authorization. The FCC's action stems from potential risks, including the possibility of China surveilling Americans and disrupting communications. FCC Chair Brendan Carr affirmed the agency's continued efforts and issued a notice stressing the importance of removing the prohibited items.
