Gemini is being integrated with Google Classroom to enhance educational workflows. This collaboration allows Gemini to understand teaching contexts and tailor its responses accordingly. Educators can leverage this to personalize resources and build upon existing materials. Gemini can provide insights into student progress, create differentiated learning materials, and help draft assignments and posts. Students aged 18 and above can use the Classroom app within Gemini for organization, study planning, and test preparation. When prompted, Gemini will automatically detect and utilize relevant Google Classroom context. Users can also explicitly invoke Classroom context by typing "@Classroom". While Gemini can draft communications, assignments with timelines, and summarize student progress, it cannot directly enter grades or post sensitive content. This feature is initially available in English for users over 18 with eligible Google Workspace accounts. Administrators have control over enabling or disabling this feature for their organizations. The rollout is currently underway and expected to complete by June 18, 2026.
