Mastercard is rethinking its iconic ‘Priceless’ campaign after nearly 30 years

Mastercard has launched a new marketing campaign called "Dreams" to support America's small businesses. This initiative aims to provide a morale boost to millions of small businesses facing economic challenges. These challenges include rising energy prices, disrupted supply chains due to tariffs, and increased operating costs. The "Dreams" campaign features two Brooklyn businesses, The Meat Hook and Noble Signs, highlighting their tenacity and determination. This campaign builds upon Mastercard's iconic "Priceless" advertising legacy but shifts focus to the entrepreneurs behind businesses. Mastercard's Chief Marketing Officer, Jill Kramer, wants to move beyond typical financial service advertising that focuses on what consumers can achieve. She aims to counter the "sea of sameness" in financial industry ads by telling more authentic business stories. The "Dreams" campaign will expand internationally, showcasing local businesses in various global markets. In the U.S., the campaign acknowledges the significant economic pressures small businesses are currently enduring. Additionally, Mastercard is providing a digital guide, "Race Ready," to businesses along the New York City marathon route. This guide offers data-driven insights to help them capitalize on the marathon-day spending boom, with restaurants and bars experiencing significant increases in sales.
