Meta Debuts 'Muse Spark', First AI Model Under Alexandr Wang

Meta has unveiled Muse Spark, its initial large AI model, marking a significant advancement. This model, developed over nine months, is designed to be superior to Llama 4. Muse Spark will initially be used in the Meta AI app and on Meta.ai. The model accepts voice, text, and image input but generates text-based output. Meta plans to release an open-source version of Muse Spark. It features a fast mode for regular inquiries, alongside various reasoning modes. A shopping mode is included to emphasize Meta's unique capabilities. This mode integrates data from user activities. Muse Spark will eventually power features recommending content from Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Alexandr Wang, who joined Meta to boost its AI efforts, leads the project.
