Meta has launched its new AI image model, Muse Image, to compete with rivals. This model is deeply integrated into the Instagram app. Public Instagram profiles are now automatically included for generative AI remixes. Users can tag someone's public profile in a prompt to generate an image using their likeness. Meta describes this as a personalized way to create images of real people. The feature allows for designing invitations or mock-ups using tagged usernames. Instagram's help center states that public accounts may have their content used for AI at Meta. Users who want to prevent future AI generations from their content must manually disable settings. This opt-out only affects future creations. Importantly, users will not be notified when their content is used for AI image generation.
