Radiolab's sister show, More Perfect, aired an episode about Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2017. In September 2020, Justice Ginsburg passed away at the age of 87. Given the current atmosphere around reproductive rights, gender, and law, Radiolab decided to re-air the More Perfect episode. The episode tells the story of how Ginsburg, as a young lawyer at the ACLU, convinced an all-male Supreme Court to take discrimination against women seriously. She did this by using a case involving discrimination against men. The episode features special thanks to Stephen Wiesenfeld, Alison Keith, and Bob Darcy. Supreme Court archival audio comes from Oyez, a free law project in collaboration with the Legal Information Institute at Cornell. The episode was reported and produced by Julia Longoria, with original music and sound design by Alex Overington.
