Moulay Tayeb Al-Darqawi, son of a famous Sufi leader, has a shrine in Morocco despite a lack of information about him. This shrine, often misnamed, is located in the sparsely populated Rif Region, making it difficult to access. The shrine's location in the Rif region reflects the Al-Darqawi family's origins there. The shrine's architecture is typical of the region, featuring a rectangular base and a domed roof. The shrine exhibits significant signs of neglect, with peeling plaster revealing its brick and earth construction. Inside, remnants of traditional Moroccan tilework, or zellige, and arched windows are visible, and light streams in. Despite its dilapidated state, the dome's intricate brickwork and plaster fragments are still discernable. Restoration efforts were planned to begin in 2020, with initial road improvements and outer wall demolition. However, as of 2025, no further restoration work has taken place, and the site remains largely unchanged.
