MS NOW Retracts Report That FBI Director Kash Patel Landed In Russia
MS Now has retracted a report stating that FBI Director Kash Patel had landed in Russia. Reporter Ken Dilanian apologized on air for the error, acknowledging that Patel did not travel to Russia. The initial report, attributed to anonymous sources, claimed Patel was in Russia for a scheduled meeting. The FBI refuted this by posting a video of Patel at an event in Virginia, with members of Congress also sharing photos with him. An FBI spokesman called the anonymous sources "unfamiliar with NOTHING." Dilanian later explained that while there were reports of a planned Russia trip and some Democrats advised against it, Patel had not actually landed in Russia. MS Now removed a video featuring a former FBI agent's commentary on the false report. The network updated its website with Dilanian's apology and stated its commitment to transparency and correcting errors. This incident occurs amidst a backdrop where former President Trump previously banned MS Now and other outlets from the White House for alleged fake news. Following the retraction, Patel posted sarcastically "From Russia, with Love..." and accused MS Now of consistently lying about FBI and law enforcement achievements.
