Mushroom Cloud Over Alabama: Trump Just Pulled A Condoleezza Rice
President Trump recently echoed a fearmongering tactic similar to Condoleezza Rice's pre-Iraq War rhetoric. During a rally in Alabama, Trump defended high oil prices as a "small price" to prevent Iran from using a nuclear weapon on Mobile. However, there is no evidence that Iran possesses missiles capable of reaching the United States. Iran's most advanced missiles can reach Central Europe or a remote US-UK base, but not the continental US. The US intelligence community also assesses that Iran does not possess operational intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Despite this, Trump likely used this false claim to garner support for a potential war with Iran. This tactic mirrors Vice President JD Vance's earlier absurd claim that Iran could create nuclear suicide vests. Both instances demonstrate a disregard for truth and logic in favor of fearmongering the public into supporting military action. The current administration is criticized for recycling old Bush-era talking points.
