Google is introducing video conferencing interoperability between Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. This allows users to join Microsoft Teams meetings from Google Meet hardware and Google Meet meetings from Microsoft Teams Rooms devices. This feature is now extending to Android-based devices enrolled in the Early Preview Program. Previously, this interoperability was available for Chrome OS-based Google Meet Rooms and Windows-based Microsoft Teams Rooms. The feature is enabled by default for administrators and can be disabled at the organizational unit level. Existing Pexip settings will not be replaced by this new functionality. Admins can find instructions for setup in Microsoft's documentation. End users can access guides on joining Microsoft Teams meetings with Google Meet hardware. The rollout to administrators began on August 31, 2026, with full visibility expected within 1-3 days. End user visibility for those in the Early Preview Program started rolling out immediately and is expected to complete by September 7, 2026. This feature is available to all Google Workspace customers with eligible Google Meet hardware devices.
