New logic and search steps in Workspace Studio help expand automation capabilities

Google Workspace Studio is rolling out significant feature enhancements in October 2026, expanding automation capabilities across Gmail, Google Meet, and Google Drive, alongside custom control logic. These additions empower users to construct intricate workflows without coding. One key improvement is Nested Conditionals, which allows for multi-layered decision paths within flows. Gmail Skip Replies is another valuable feature, enabling users to trigger flows only on initial incoming emails by ignoring subsequent replies in a thread. The Meet Calendar Outputs enhancement expands the Google Meet primitive, providing access to more Calendar event metadata, including full invitee lists. This also supports template generation for post-meeting follow-up email drafts. A new Google Drive step, Search for a Doc, permits dynamic document searches within flows based on specified parameters. These enhancements are designed to eliminate repetitive follow-up tasks, facilitate dynamic document lookup, and offer greater control over automated communication throughout Google Workspace. For administrators, feature controls inherit existing Workspace Studio domain and OU-level policies, with prerequisite primitive settings already ramped up. End users will find features ON by default and directly accessible within the Workspace Studio flow builder. The rollout will be gradual, taking up to 15 days for full visibility, starting on October 13, 2026, for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains. These new features are available to all Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers with access to Workspace Studio. Additional assistance can be found in the Google Help Center.
