New Mossad director met with CIA chief on Iran

Roman Gofman, the new director of Israel's Mossad, recently visited Washington for discussions. These talks centered on the ongoing conflict with Iran and its nuclear program. Gofman, a close advisor to Prime Minister Netanyahu, made this his inaugural visit to Washington since taking office in June. His visit predated an escalation of tensions near the Strait of Hormuz and a resumption of hostilities. A key objective of Gofman's trip was to coordinate with the White House on potential nuclear deal negotiations with Iran. During his visit, Gofman met with CIA Director John Ratcliffe and other White House officials. Ratcliffe, a skeptical voice within the Trump administration regarding a memorandum of understanding with Iran, had previously cautioned about differing interpretations of any deal, especially concerning the Strait. Both the CIA and Mossad chose not to comment on the visit or its specifics.
