New usability features in Connected Sheets
Google Workspace is enhancing Connected Sheets with two new features for better BigQuery data analysis.
List parameters now allow users to reference multiple values from a sheet range as a single parameter in queries.
This enables more flexible querying by using existing sheet data for filtering.
Users can set up input sheets with drop-downs for easier option selection, empowering collaborators.
This new functionality allows more users to independently gain insights from Connected Sheets.
Column aliasing has also been introduced, letting users create custom, user-friendly names for BigQuery columns within Connected Sheets.
This feature improves readability by substituting unwieldy or context-lacking original column names.
Users can still refer to columns by either their alias or original name in formulas.
These enhancements are available now to all Google Workspace and personal Google account users.
The rollout is expected to be completed by August 15, 2026, with no specific admin or end-user settings required.
