NFL: ICE Will Not Be Present At Super Bowl

Federal immigration officers will not be present at the Super Bowl this year, according to NFL Chief Security Officer Cathy Lanier. This contradicts an earlier statement by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who indicated ICE officers would be at the event. Noem's comments followed the announcement that anti-ICE performer Bad Bunny would headline the halftime show. President Trump had previously criticized the selection of artists like Bad Bunny and Green Day due to their criticisms of him. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, however, expressed confidence in Bad Bunny's ability to deliver a great show. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie stated that public safety is the city's top priority during the Super Bowl. Lurie emphasized that local law enforcement would focus on city safety rather than federal immigration enforcement. The city anticipates the Super Bowl will attract criminal activity, including human trafficking. Authorities are conducting operations to prevent the exploitation of vulnerable individuals. Approximately 1.3 million visitors are expected to attend Super Bowl related events.
