On August 26, 2026, an updated user interface will launch for Neat touch controllers and the Poly TC8. This new design prioritizes meeting focus with simplified access to frequent controls like mute and hand raise. Advanced features such as camera controls and meeting layouts will be conveniently located under a "More actions" menu. The pre-call experience also receives a refresh, prominently displaying options for meeting codes and nicknames. The touch controller UI will now align with the Google Meet UI on laptops and desktops, enhancing intuitiveness. This update aims to reduce user friction and support tickets by standardizing the interaction layout. The new interface will be available on Neat Pad and Poly TC8 devices, expanding to other Google Meet touch controllers. Admins will have this feature enabled by default, while end-users require no action. The rollout begins with a gradual deployment starting August 26, 2026, for early preview devices. It will then extend to other domains with a rapid rollout starting September 2nd, 2026. This enhancement is available to all Google Workspace customers with compatible Google Meet hardware.
