The UK Cinema Association, representing most UK cinema operators, expressed concerns about privacy and film piracy. As smart glasses become more common, many cinemas are implementing policies to prohibit or limit their use. This move aligns with other venues, workplaces, and even courts that have begun banning smart glasses. The UK's His Majesty’s Courts & Tribunals Service recently prohibited smart glasses in judicial buildings due to restrictions on recording. This action mirrors New York state courts, which also banned smart glasses earlier. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the US also prohibits employees from wearing them in federal workplaces. Despite these bans, sales of smart glasses have significantly increased recently. The UKCA plans to adapt its approach as the situation evolves.
