Nvidia Dominates GPU Shipments With 94% Share
A Jon Peddie Research report indicates strong sales for the second quarter of 2025. Graphics card shipments reached 11.6 million units, a significant 27% increase from the previous quarter. Desktop PC CPU shipments also saw a substantial rise, totaling 21.7 million units, a 21.6% jump. This growth deviates from the typical Q2 decline often observed in recent years. Dr. Jon Peddie noted unusual price shifts, with mid-range and entry-level AIB prices decreasing while high-end prices rose. Many retail suppliers experienced stockouts, particularly for higher-end components. This price behavior and stock situation is attributed to anticipated tariffs, prompting buyers to purchase ahead of potential increases. Nvidia continues to dominate the GPU market, holding a commanding 94% share, an increase of 2.1%. AMD holds a distant second place in the GPU market with 6% share. Intel's market share in GPUs was too small to be registered on the provided chart.
