Occupancy counting now available for Google Meet on Logitech room hardware

Occupancy counting is now available for Android-based Logitech Gen 2 room hardware, starting with the Logitech Rally Board 65. This feature, previously available on ChromeOS devices, helps measure meeting room usage. Support for earlier Gen 1 devices will be added in a future CollabOS update. Understanding room occupancy allows organizations to optimize real estate and room design. It can also reveal if older video hardware rooms are less utilized than newer ones. Administrators can access occupancy data in the Google Admin console and download it as a spreadsheet. The feature does not collect or store personally identifiable information. Occupancy detection processes data locally, so camera LED indicators may remain off. Admins can enable this feature at the domain, OU, or group level, and it is off by default. The rollout began on September 28, 2026, and is available to all Google Workspace customers with compatible Logitech Gen 2 AOSP hardware.
