Among daily U.S. mobile app users, ChatGPT's market share dropped from 69.1% to 45.3% between January 2025 and January 2026. During the same period, Google's Gemini saw its share increase from 14.7% to 25.1%, and Grok grew substantially from 1.6% to 15.2%, tightening the competitive race. This pattern is mirrored in web usage, where although ChatGPT remains the leader in total visits, its 50% increase was dwarfed by Gemini's 647% rise in visits, indicating a shift in the chatbot landscape.
