Pantone just made an AI tool that’s actually useful

Pantone has launched a generative AI model within Pantone Connect's Adobe extension to automatically create color palettes. This AI was trained on six decades of Pantone's proprietary color research, offering a unique resource for designers. Designers can input prompts to receive color palettes with rationales and supporting data from Pantone's extensive knowledge base. The creation of this tool stemmed from a collaboration facilitated by Pantone's parent company, Veralto, and Microsoft. Pantone opted for a chat-based interface, mirroring the growing popularity of AI assistants in various workflows. The AI's strength lies in its exclusive reliance on Pantone's curated data, ensuring palettes are informed by years of trend forecasting and research. Pantone will regularly update the model with fresh insights, including the highly anticipated Color of the Year. Early user feedback highlights the value of the AI's foundation on ethical and reliable Pantone data. This Palette Generator is in beta, with ongoing iterations planned based on user feedback and usage patterns. The generator is accessible to all Pantone Connect users, including those with a free account.
