Paul Pelosi, husband of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run and an unlawful turn on July 17. The charges stem from an incident on July 3 in Napa County, California, where he allegedly struck a parked vehicle. A witness called 911, and deputies found Pelosi a quarter-mile from the damaged car. Pelosi reportedly told deputies he hit something but didn't know what or when, continuing to drive. He did not test positive for alcohol and was cited at the scene without arrest. The sheriff's office recommended Pelosi to the DMV, a common procedure for older drivers. This is Pelosi's second charge by the Napa County District Attorney in four years. He was convicted in 2022 for drunk driving and causing injury, receiving probation, restitution, jail time, and other mandates. Pelosi also faced an unrelated attack at his home that same year. His first court appearance for the current charges is scheduled for August 14.
