Google Drive is introducing timestamped comments for videos on the web. This feature allows users to anchor feedback to specific moments within a video. A split button in the commenting interface lets users choose between timestamped or general file-level comments. Timestamped comments appear as markers on the video timeline, enabling direct navigation to feedback points. Clicking a marker plays the video from that point and displays the corresponding comment. Standard commenting functions like editing, replying, and mentioning are fully supported. This streamlines feedback by eliminating the need for separate documentation. It is beneficial for teams working on various video types, facilitating precise asynchronous reviews. While created on the web, mobile users will see these as standard file-level comments. The feature is available by default for all Google Workspace customers and personal account users.
