The Python Software Foundation (PSF) has officially adopted its Strategic Plan 2026, covering the years 2026 to 2031. This plan was developed through a collaborative process, with initial goals shared in May and a full draft opened for community feedback in June. The feedback received significantly shaped the final plan, leading to the inclusion of new objectives for security and vulnerability management. Community input also influenced the plan's focus on translation, localization, clearer funding pathways for companies, and growing PSF membership value. A dedicated webpage will serve as the permanent home for the plan, detailing priority setting and feedback mechanisms. To ensure the plan remains relevant, the PSF Board has established an annual review process. This review will assess progress, evaluate priority shifts, and incorporate ongoing feedback from staff and the community. Implementation of the strategic plan has already begun, with the 2026 Grants Program Funding Round being the first initiative aligned with its direction. The PSF is also working with an external accounting firm to provide updated financial information.
