Python Software Foundation: PSF Board Election Dates for 2026
The Python Software Foundation Board elections are occurring soon, offering the community a chance to elect representatives. Four seats are currently open on the PSF Board, with terms ending for several current members. In parallel, the first election for the newly approved Packaging Council will also take place. The nomination period for the PSF Board opens on Tuesday, July 28th, and closes on Tuesday, August 11th. Candidates will be announced on Thursday, August 13th. To vote, individuals must be a Contributing, Supporting, or Fellow member by Tuesday, August 25th, and affirm their intention to vote.A change in bylaws allows past voters to be automatically added to the voter roll, but email changes may prevent this. Members can manage their election communication preferences on psfmember.org. The PSF seeks candidates with diverse skills, including leadership, fundraising, non-profit experience, event organizing, and technical expertise. Resources are available to learn more about the role of a PSF Director. Self-nominations and nominations of others are encouraged, with an initial conversation with the nominee recommended. Discussions about the election are happening on the PSF forum, and office hours will be held on Discord. Updates will be provided via the PSF blog and the psf-member-announce mailing list.
