Discussions about this agreement began during the Biden administration and the deal has been in the works for years. Mountain Home currently hosts Singapore's F-15s; pilots from other nations train there as well. Qatar's limited airspace for training prompted their search for a U.S. location to train in varying environments. The new facility will allow for advanced training and interoperability. This project also involves a $12 billion order for 36 advanced F-15 fighter jets from Qatar. The Qatari media attaché emphasized the project's benefits, including job creation for Americans. The agreement is similar to existing partnerships with other U.S. allies.
