Rashida Tlaib's Terror Ties Under Scrutiny In New Watchdog Report

A new report from ISGAP Action alleges a disturbing pattern of connections between Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib and individuals and organizations linked to designated terrorist groups like Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The report questions whether Tlaib's actions pose a national security risk and if expulsion is warranted. This follows previous censure efforts against her for promoting false narratives about the Oct. 7 attacks and using antisemitic rhetoric. Additionally, between 2020 and 2025, Tlaib's campaign funneled nearly $600,000 to a consulting firm run by Rasha Mubarak, who has ties to organizations scrutinized for links to Hamas and PFLP-aligned networks. The ISGAP report also highlights Tlaib's participation in events with known extremists, including a convicted PFLP operative. Her comments at these events have been described as glorifying "martyrs" and calling for continued resistance aligned with jihadist organizations. While Tlaib has not been found to have violated federal statutes criminalizing material support to terrorist organizations, the report argues that her patterns of engagement raise serious ethical and national security concerns. Protected political speech and congressional immunity currently make legal action unlikely, but ISGAP Action suggests further public scrutiny by congressional bodies is warranted. Despite these allegations, no member of Congress has initiated expulsion proceedings. However, some, like Rep. Dan Crenshaw, believe immediate action is necessary due to national security implications. The report ultimately illustrates how extremist ideologies can infiltrate democratic institutions.
