Salesforce is planning to buy AI marketing company Braze, sending BRZE shares surging 50%
Salesforce announced plans to acquire the digital marketing firm Braze for approximately $5.66 billion. This acquisition aims to integrate Braze's AI-powered multichannel marketing solutions into Salesforce's core offerings. Salesforce believes this move will enhance its enterprise solutions, especially amid concerns about the "SaaSpocalypse" and the increasing demand for AI. Braze, founded in 2011 and publicly traded since 2021, specializes in helping enterprise customers understand and interact with consumers across various channels. The company has been shifting its focus towards AI to improve customer engagement. Braze boasts a customer base that includes notable companies like Venmo and Instacart. The acquisition price represents a significant premium over Braze's recent market valuation, causing its stock to surge by over 50%. Despite this substantial gain, Braze's current share price remains well below its initial post-IPO highs. Regulatory approval and the completion of the transaction are still pending. The deal is anticipated to close during Salesforce's 2028 fiscal year.
