San Francisco Moves To Build Private Luxury Airport Terminal

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) plans to build a new premium terminal for commercial passengers seeking an enhanced experience. This exclusive terminal will offer amenities like private security and customs lines, as well as valet service. SFO is currently seeking bids for the development, construction, and operation of this facility. The proposed terminal will be located across the runway from the existing public terminals. Development proposals are due in late September or early October, with a contract expected by early December. The airport aims to have the new terminal operational by late 2028. If successful, SFO would join other major US airports that already offer luxury terminal services. Airports like Los Angeles, Dallas Fort Worth, Miami, and Atlanta have private terminals operated by a company called PS. These existing private terminals can cost passengers over a thousand dollars for a single visit or thousands for an annual membership. PS, owned by Gavin de Becker and Associates, has ambitions to expand its private terminal services to most major US airports by 2030.
