Scoop: Democrat Senate Super PAC targets 4 Republican seats

The Democratic Senate super PAC is allocating an additional $54 million for TV ads in the final stretch of the midterm campaign. This significant investment targets four Republican-held seats, indicating where Democrats see opportunities for crucial flips. The new reservations expand the footprint of Senate Majority PAC, aligning with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.Specifically, $24 million is allocated to Ohio for former Sen. Sherrod Brown, bringing the total to $60 million. Iowa will see an additional $17 million for state Sen. Josh Turek, increasing his total to $30.5 million. North Carolina receives an extra $11 million for former Gov. Roy Cooper, raising his reservation to $42.5 million. Finally, Alaska gets $2 million more for former Rep. Mary Peltola, bringing her total to $11 million.A spokesperson for Senate Majority PAC stated that these new resources demonstrate a shift in the battleground map toward Democrats. In contrast, Republicans' prior major advertising reservations primarily focused on defending incumbents and preserving their majority. Despite these new Democratic reservations, Senate Leadership Fund, the Republican super PAC aligned with Majority Leader John Thune, remains better capitalized. As of June, Senate Leadership Fund had $238 million in cash on hand, significantly more than Senate Majority PAC's $126 million. This announcement is not the last from Senate Majority PAC, as they expect further TV reservations and are not detailing digital spending. In April, Senate Leadership Fund had planned to spend $342 million across all platforms for the cycle.
