Microsoft is discontinuing its Send to Kindle integration in Word, a feature that allowed Microsoft 365 subscribers to send documents to their Kindle e-readers while preserving complex formatting. The Send to Kindle feature will no longer work across Web, Win32, and Mac platforms starting February 9th, 2026, according to an update in Microsoft's documentation. Microsoft has not provided a reason for ending the integration, but it recommends that users switch to Amazon's official Send to Kindle app as an alternative. The feature, which was launched in 2023, was particularly useful for Kindle Scribe owners who could annotate the transferred documents, and its discontinuation may be a loss for these users.
