Set timers in Google Meet on the web
Google Meet now allows users to create meeting timers directly in the sidebar. These timers are visible to all participants once started. Host and co-hosts can manage the timer if host controls are enabled. If host controls are off, any participant can manage the timer. Meeting timers can be paused or canceled after they begin. This feature aims to enhance focus, time management, and equitable participation during meetings. For end users, the feature is off by default and can be activated through the Activities menu. Admins do not have control over this feature, and it will be enabled by default for them. The rollout for all eligible users begins on October 6th, 2025, and is expected to take one to three days. The timer functionality is available to all Google Workspace editions, individual subscribers, and personal Google account users.
