SOCRadar powers rapid threat detection with AlloyDB and Gemini Enterprise
SOCRadar, a cybersecurity firm, faced performance issues with its PostgreSQL database due to increasing cyber threat volumes. They needed to modernize their infrastructure to provide faster threat intelligence to customers. Their existing on-premises database struggled with high-velocity data ingestion and real-time analytical queries, creating significant bottlenecks. To address this, SOCRadar evaluated alternatives and chose Google Cloud's AlloyDB for PostgreSQL.AlloyDB offered a PostgreSQL-compatible, fully managed solution capable of handling complex, hybrid workloads. This migration resulted in a 20x performance boost for analytical queries and a 3.2x increase in live ingestion velocity. The transition also significantly reduced operational overhead, freeing up database administrators. SOCRadar reclaimed over 45 TB of storage and saved 75% of their DBA time, enabling them to focus on innovation.Furthermore, SOCRadar integrated the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform with AlloyDB to combat alert fatigue. This AI-driven filtering categorizes and routes alerts before they reach end-users, ensuring analysts receive only critical, actionable intelligence. The company is now exploring agentic AI workloads, with plans for natural language querying and automated incident summarization. This unified platform consolidates transactional velocity, historical depth, and AI intelligence for a future-proof cybersecurity defense framework.
