Streameast, World's Largest Illegal Sports Streaming Platform, Shut Down in Sting
Streameast, identified as the world's largest illegal sports streaming platform, has been shut down following a year-long investigation. This extensive network comprised 80 unauthorized domains and garnered a staggering 1.6 billion combined visits over the past year. Streameast offered free access to a wide array of global sports, including major European football leagues like the Premier League and Champions League, as well as NFL, NBA, and MLB games. The Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment (ACE), a powerful coalition of 50 media and entertainment organizations, spearheaded the operation. ACE collaborated with Egyptian law enforcement officials to dismantle Streameast's prominent position in the illegal streaming market. The operation occurred on Sunday, August 24th. Prior to its shutdown, the platform experienced an average of 136 million monthly visits. These visitors primarily originated from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, and Germany. This action represents a significant victory for anti-piracy efforts in the sports broadcasting industry. The shutdown aims to curb widespread unauthorized access to copyrighted sports content.
