Streamline auditing: Compliance Manager is now in preview
Google Cloud is launching Compliance Manager in preview to help organizations manage security, privacy, and compliance. This new capability integrates with Security Command Center, offering a unified platform for configuration, monitoring, and auditing. Its AI-powered approach automates tasks, reduces manual effort, and improves accuracy in meeting security obligations. Compliance Manager translates regulatory controls into technical configurations and vice versa, essential for risk mitigation and operational streamlining. The tool allows for the configuration of security and compliance obligations, prevention of misconfigurations, and monitoring of drifts. It supports standard security benchmarks and allows customization at various levels. Compliance Manager guides users through three phases: configure, monitor, and audit. The configure phase involves defining security and compliance intent using a library of frameworks and cloud controls. The monitor phase provides real-time visibility into compliance status for proactive issue identification. The audit phase simplifies evidence generation for internal and external audits, as demonstrated by a partnership with FedRAMP. Compliance Manager utilizes frameworks, collections of technical controls mapped to regulations, and cloud controls, platform-agnostic building blocks for configuration and checks. Users can access Compliance Manager via a navigation link in the Google Cloud Console.
